Weekly Message

Mark your calendar for Penderlea Fall Festival day! It will be November 11th from 10am-2pm.  More details will be coming home with students soon. 

Beta students are once again completing the Students Against Hunger Campaign that helps support the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Donations can be non-perishable foods, cases of water, paper or plastic cutlery, paper products, toiletry items, etc. Items that are glass, require a refrigerator/ freezer, and baby food, can not be accepted. Donations can be sent to your students' homeroom teacher until November 27th. The class with the most donations will receive a doughnut party! Thank you for helping our Beta Students support this cause!

Soccer Try-Outs will started this week. Students must attend either Monday, October 23rd OR Tuesday, October 24th for a skills session at 3:00pm and pick-up time will be 4:30pm. All students trying out MUST attend on October 25th and this session will go from 3:40pm-5:30pm. There will be a study hall before try-outs on the 25th. To attend try-outs you must have a physical on file and be academically eligible. The Sign-up sheet is located outside of Mrs. Finn's door. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Finn. 

Middle School Science Olympiad papers will be going home with students starting this week.  If your child wants to participate please see Ms. Anderson for details.

Wednesday, October 25“Sock it to drugs”...wear your CRAZY SOCKS!                

Thursday, October 26

“My future is too bright for drugs”…wear BRIGHT COLORS AND/OR SUNGLASSES  (must take sunglasses off in the classroom and while on the stairs)          

 

Friday, October 27

“Use your head-don’t do drugs”…wear any kind of HAT! 

Pictures or picture money were due last Friday.  If you have not returned pictures or picture money, please do so as soon as possible.

Consent forms for our upcoming flu clinic for middle school were sent home last week. Please return those as soon as possible if you wish for your student to get their flu vaccine at school. This is ONLY for middle school students. If your child did not bring a consent form home and you would like for them to get the flu vaccine please contact Nurse Bain so another form can be sent home. Only those students who have a consent form signed by a guardian will get the flu vaccine. 

We will have FCA this week on October 24th at 5:30pm. Students who are trying out for soccer can stay after tryouts for FCA and be picked up at 6:30pm. 

Make up picture day will be on Wednesday, October 25th.
