Autism Awareness Walk

Today, students at PILA participated in the Autism Awareness Walk. The walk started with a poem being read by Mrs. Beth Burns Vice-Chair of the Pender County Board of Education. The students walked to promote acceptance and kindness for all students. After completing a lap around the campus, Mrs. Burns read the story The Girl Who Thought in Pictures: The Story of Temple Grandin. PILA staff is grateful for everyone who participated in the awareness day and a special thank you to Mrs. Burns for spending the afternoon with PILA!
