Students in Mrs. Crews' Economics and Personal Finance class present their budget projects. They had to select their career and create a budget to pay all their monthly expenses using their salary.

We just want to thank Ms Springer for her time at PECHS. Ms Springer helped out a lot especially with Prom, YearBook and her English class. We will miss you! We wish you well in 🇦🇺! #🐨🦘🐊

This year, CAW is October 21, beginning at 7:30 a.m. to October 27, ending at 11:59 p.m. Remember if you plan to apply to participating schools in NC next week, your application fee will be waived. Please let Ms. Robbins and I know if you plan to apply and/or if you need any help. You can also send your high school transcript to the schools by using the send your transcript link. ALSO: East Carolina University will waive their application fee next week on CFNC.org and on the Common APP! Last year's list is below. They did not release a current list this year, so the dates are not correct, but the schools should be.

Candy Jar Mystery 🍬: How many candies are in a container? Students use prism volume to make their estimates in Math 3. Watery Wonders 🌊: Students are exploring the concept of volume by pouring water from one container to another with similar dimensions. Can they determine how the volumes of the containers compare? 🧐 Algebra Tiles: Squares in Math! 🧩: Our students use algebra tiles to make complex algebraic concepts a breeze. Watch as they visualize and manipulate equations with these colorful manipulatives.

Principal Spotlight: Mr. Daniel Sidor 🌟👨‍🏫 In celebration of National Principal Month, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on Mr. Daniel Sidor, who has been a part of Pender Early College High School for 17 years. 📚✨ Mr. Sidor attended Ohio University for his college education. 🎓 Outside of school, Mr. Sidor enjoys golfing ⛳, surfing 🏄‍♂️, and cheering on Cleveland sports teams 🏈🏀. He loves Italian food, especially dining at Roko 🍝, and his go-to pizza toppings are pepperoni and banana peppers 🍕🌶️. A fan of Howard Zinn and Dr. Seuss 📖, Mr. Sidor also enjoys biking to the beach during his downtime 🚴‍♂️🌊. Before entering education, Mr. Sidor worked as a Golf Course Irrigation Tech/Greens Keeper ⛳🚜 and has the hidden skill of driving a backhoe! 🚧 He loves a wide variety of music genres, including jazz and rock 🎶. Mr. Sidor and his wife share an interesting story—they both grew up in Cleveland, a mile apart, but didn’t meet until they were in Wilmington 💑. One of Mr. Sidor's most memorable moments in his career was completing his first graduation ceremony as principal of PECHS 🎓✨. Mr. Sidor was inspired to become an educator when he tutored 4th graders as part of service learning during his sophomore year of high school 🤝📚. When asked what he most enjoys about his current school, he highlighted the amazing students and staff. His favorite school tradition is the Underclassmen Awards Day 🏆. We’re grateful for passionate leaders like Mr. Sidor who bring dedication and inspiration to our schools every day! 🌟👏

Soil arrived today for PECHS Garden Club so students went to work. Garden club is one of the many clubs at PECHS which which students can join. #PECHSclubs

Kara Price Coordinator of Recruitment and Educational Outreach for NC State’s Wilson College of Textiles shares chemistry an experiment on textiles and discussed the college of Textiles degree opportunities, scholarships and summer programs during lunch in Mr Walles classroom.
