This is Avery Ellington, your principal, with your weekly Eagle news.   

  • Pender County Schools is asking for your input in a survey regarding our school calendars. Your opinions and feedback are important as we strive to provide the best possible educational experience for our students. The survey will consist of questions that gauge your preferences and opinions on the pros and cons of each calendar option. Your participation in this survey will help us make a better decision about the implementation of a new school calendar.  The survey will be available online and will take less than five minutes to complete. We would appreciate it if you could take the time to participate in the survey.  The link is below:

  • Families, we need your help. If you are checking your child out of school early,  we ask that you please park in the lot to the right of the school as you are driving in.  PK begins their dismissal at 2:00 in the front circle and it is causing confusion.  Thank you for your cooperation with this.  

  • This week is counselor appreciation week!  We will be showering our new counselor, Tianna Meyer, with lots of love and appreciation!  We are happy to have her with the Malpass Corner Team. 

  • Interim reports will be sent home tomorrow.  

  • PTO Val-A-Grams will begin being sold this week and continuing until the 10th.  

  • This Wednesday is an early release day.  K-5 will begin dismissing at 11:45.  

  • PK students will not have school on Wednesday and Thursday.  

  • This Friday is a popcorn Friday.  Popcorn is $1.  

  • Mark your calendars:  Feb 13-17 is Love the Bus Week.  Letś show our drivers how much we appreciate them and PTO will be hosting a spirit week in honor of the 100th day of school, Feb 13th.    

  • Attraction books are now on sale until February 13… please place your orders online or with cash.  Please send envelopes to your child's teacher.  Thank you for your support. 

  • Feb 24th we will hold our Career Day if you have an interesting career or know of someone that would like to share their career with our students please contact Mrs. King-Jacobs at 910-789-6083.
