Good Evening Panther Families,

This call and email includes our school’s weekly message. The weekly message is to keep families informed of important processes, expectations, supports, and events that our school has in place or upcoming. If you are not already, please follow C.F. Pope Elementary on Facebook and visit our school’s website frequently. In addition to our weekly messages, these platforms are updated regularly throughout the week.

Huge thanks to our PTO, chaperones, and school staff who helped our 5th graders have a night they will always remember at the formal. We appreciate everyone’s support in making the event a success for our students.

This upcoming Friday, May 10th is our Field Day for K-5 students. Kindergarten-2nd Grade will have field day from 8:00 am-10:45 am and 3rd-5th grade’s time will be from 11:15 am-2:15 pm. To ensure field day safety: 1. Have your child wear sneakers, shorts and their class color t-shirt selected by the teacher. 2. Apply sunscreen and bug spray before your student leaves for school. Water will be provided throughout the event (students are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle). 3. Provide a towel and or change of clothing/students will get wet. We are in need of cases of water! Water can be dropped off in the front office. We appreciate your support in advance.

If anyone is interested in helping at Field Day or making a donation please call C.F. Pope at(910) 259-0145 and ask for Ms. Campbell. To ensure student safety and to optimize our experience please park at the car drop off lane and the front of the school. Again thank you for a wonderful year with your child and come join the FUN! Parents  or community members who plan to volunteer must have an active background check on file. Parents and visitors who plan to attend field day with their child or family member must be listed in PowerSchool. All chaperones and visitors must check in at the front office. Our goal is to ensure cars stay off N Wright Street to prevent the blocking of driveways and intersections. As a reminder we ask that cars do not arrive before 2:30, as we are not able to move cars up until all students are off the playground from Recess. School dismisses at 2:35 and students are prepared to leave campus by car at 2:45. Cones should only be moved by school personnel to ensure and maintain the safety of students.
