Good Evening Panther Families,

This call and email includes our school’s weekly message. The weekly message is to keep families informed of important processes, expectations, supports, and events that our school has in place or upcoming. If you are not already, please follow C.F. Pope Elementary on Facebook and visit our school’s website frequently. In addition to our weekly messages, these platforms are updated regularly throughout the week.

Report cards were sent home Friday, January 12. If you have questions regarding your child’s grades, please schedule a conference with your child’s teacher soon. We are halfway through the school year, and it is an expectation that we are collaborating with families to determine what each child needs to be successful.

The Mobile Dental Clinic, along with Dr. Kathy Barnes, and her staff are at our school until February 1. The Mobile Dental Clinic provides dental services to students during school and after school hours. If you would like your child to be seen, please complete and return the forms that were sent before break. Dental services are also available for school staff, parents, and all community members. If you have dental insurance, it can be filed. The clinic can also check to see if students qualify for Medicaid or their Sliding Fee Scale. Additional forms can be picked up from the front office or requested from your child’s teacher.

If you report to the car ride lane after 7:30, you will need to drive around to the front entrance. After 7:35 all students must be checked in at the front office by an adult.

Ensuring students are at school and on time are vital to the success of every student and their learning. We are working diligently to improve our attendance rate and need your support in making sure that students are in school each day. If your child is out sick, please make sure your child’s teacher has been informed.

All parents and visitors will be required to present a valid ID for checkout and school visitation.

Any individual checking a student out or visiting the campus must be listed in PowerSchool

If you have a student who is a bus rider, please download the Here Comes the Bus App. Our district’’s code is 29081. To track your child’s bus you will need their Student ID number. If you do not know your child’s Student ID number, a written request should be submitted to your child’s teacher. The teacher will provide the number on a physical piece of paper in response, as this information will not be shared electronically for personal identification protection. Bus riders should be standing at the bus stop 10-15 minutes early, wait for the driver’s hand signal if crossing the road, follow all bus rules, and K-2 students must be accompanied by an adult or older sibling for dropoff/pickup. If unaccompanied, they may be brought back to school for parent pickup

In our attempt to maximize instructional learning, student checkout will not be permitted after 2:00 p.m. Special circumstances will be evaluated on an individual basis by administration.

We appreciate your continuous support. Please contact the school at 910-259-0145 if you have any questions or concerns.
