Due to Hurricane Idalia, all after-school activities and programs are canceled both Wednesday, August 30th and Thursday, August 31st. Pender County School buildings will be closed on Thursday, August 31st. Teachers and staff will be working remotely and will be available to students and parents for assistance with classwork that is being sent home and/or uploaded to Google Classroom. Kindergarten-2nd grade students will receive hard copies of their instructional materials, and 3rd-5th grade students may receive hard copies of instructional material and electronic material uploaded to Google Classroom. All 3rd-5th grade student Chromebooks will be sent home with chargers. Please make sure your child handles their school-issued device with care. Devices and chargers should return with your child on Friday, September 1st.
Student attendance during virtual instruction may be verified by either of the following methods:
Option 1: Checking in via two-way communication with the appropriate teacher(s)
Use Apptegy Rooms as the first option of communication. We do understand that some teachers are not able to publish their classes in Rooms yet. If your child’s teacher is not in Rooms yet, please email or use other communication methods provided by the teacher.
Option 2: Completing/submitting paper and pencil assignments provided by the teacher
Option 3: Completing/submitting assignments online
