Our soccer interest meeting will take place on October 18th during all grade level recess time. The first day of tryouts will be October 20th. A current physical is required to participate in tryouts.
Our football team plays Tuesday, October 18th at Heide Trask HS versus Topsail MS. Game time is 4:30.
The softball team will compete in the conference tournament on Monday playing Topsail MS at 6 at Heide Trask HS.
Please join us October 20th from 5:30-7:00 for our beginning of the year kickoff event. We will have a special demonstration by our cheerleaders and our softball and football teams will be introduced. Our teachers will have information and resources about the content they are teaching this year. As a bonus, the homeroom with the most attendance will receive a reward.
In combination with Cape Fear Elementary, Rocky Point Elementary and Heide Trask High School, we will be having a Hispanic Heritage Celebration at Heide Trask HS on October 22nd from 4-8pm. This will be our culminating event to close out the celebration of Hispanic Heritage month. The evening’s proceeds will support Cape Fear Elementary, Cape Fear Middle, Heide Trask High School and Rocky Point Elementary. There will be food, games, music and performances throughout the night. If you are interested in selling food at the event, please complete this link . A table will be provided for you and you may set your own prices. All sellers must share at least 20% of their profits with the fundraising committee; more than 20% is welcome! Funds raised from this event will benefit all four participating schools. Tacos will be sold at a group of food trucks, so please do not sign up to bring tacos. Practices will take place at CFMS Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:15-4:15. We are also asking for donations of candy and can drinks(sodas) to help support our fundraising efforts. Hispanic Heritage Celebration Flyer CFMS
Our PTO is hosting a Halloween dance here at CFMS on Friday, October 28th. The time of the dance will be from 3-5pm. The cost will be $5 and each student will have to return a permission slip to attend the dance.
PCS students will be asked to participate in a brief screener to assist us in uncovering and addressing the social and emotional well-being of our students. With a continued commitment to addressing social and emotional barriers to learning, we are asking that all students enrolled in our school complete the Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS) survey. We will be sending home a letter describing the PASS program. If you do not wish for your child to participate in this screening process, please fill out the bottom portion of the form and return it to your child’s teacher.
