Weekly Update

Good afternoon everyone, the year is quickly coming to a close.  We have had a wonderful year and look forward to our end of year celebrations.  There are many exciting events coming up including our Transition Night, EOG’s, and awards days.  Last year, we finished in the top 10% in the state for overall school growth, top 9% in math growth and top 2% in reading growth.  We have those very same high expectations for this year.  Please partner with us in keeping our students prepared and focused to end the year.  Once again, let’s demonstrate to our district all of the great things happening in our Rocky Point community.

Pender County Schools has partnered with RTI International to create its next strategic plan and we need your feedback on what we have developed thus far. Please review the questions below and share your thoughts on how well these elements reflect what is most important for Pender County Schools over the next five years.

Upcoming EOG testing schedule-

We are working diligently to prepare our students for end of the grade testing. Please see below important dates for testing in May. Our remediation and readministration structure has been adjusted this year. If a student is not proficient in either math or reading we will begin remediation and implement readministration prior to the end of the year. Please review the attached letter explaining this process. If you do not want your student to participate, please print the attached letter and return to their homeroom teacher by May 1, 2025.  https://tinyurl.com/yuyvtv8z

We are in need of proctors to ensure a successful EOG testing environment.  Test proctors help to monitor students during our test sessions.  Test sessions will run from 7:30-11:30.  If you, a family member or friend are interested in volunteering, please complete the included link, https://forms.gle/yMKDJtUXK8q627hs7.  Thank you for supporting CFMS.
