Announcements:

Job Shadow Day is going to be on 2/28 this year. This is an opportunity for students to job shadow for a day with someone that they know or their family helps coordinate with. Again, it is the student and or family's responsibility to coordinate the transportation and location of the job shadowing. Students can request applications from school counselors, CTE teachers or the front office. Job Shadow applications are due to Ms. Bowman or Ms. Miller by 2/21/2025.

School reassignment message -

■ In an effort to accommodate the educational preferences of families in the Pender County School District, officials have opened the reassignment request period for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. Parents who wish to enroll their students in a Pender County school outside of their designated zone, with the exception of Pender Early College and Pender Innovative Learning Academy, are encouraged to participate in the application process.

■ Due to schools in the Topsail and Surf City school districts being over capacity, no new applications will be accepted. However, students who currently attend these schools on reassignment will have the opportunity to complete an application. Specific guidance on completing this application process will be provided by your student’s school.

■ The application period opens on February 1, 2025, allowing parents ample time to consider alternative educational options for their children. The deadline for submitting reassignment requests is March 31, 2025.In County 2025-2026 Reassignment Request

If you do not want your child to take the survey, submit the included opt-out form to Mr. Simmons. For 6th grade students and families:

Our 6th grade staff has planned a field trip for March 13th to the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium. Students will be receiving a field trip permission slip this week. Also, we will need parent volunteers to help as chaperones. Our staff will be communicating with you about this opportunity. Thank you for supporting our students and staff.
