Pender County Schools will be surveying our students regarding the student dress code policy. Please click on this link, https://tinyurl.com/z5kr6uv6, to review the survey. If you do not want your child to take the survey, submit the included opt-out form to Mr. Simmons.

School reassignment message -

■ In an effort to accommodate the educational preferences of families in the Pender County School District, officials have opened the reassignment request period for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. Parents who wish to enroll their students in a Pender County school outside of their designated zone, with the exception of Pender Early College and Pender Innovative Learning Academy, are encouraged to participate in the application process.

■ Due to schools in the Topsail and Surf City school districts being over capacity, no new applications will be accepted. However, students who currently attend these schools on reassignment will have the opportunityto complete an application. Specific guidance on completing this application process will be provided by your student’s school.

■ The application period opens on February 1, 2024, allowing parents ample time to consider alternative educational options for their children. The deadline for submitting reassignment requests is March 31, 2025.

CFMS Family Survey -

We are asking for your feedback regarding your child’s experience here at CFMS. Please take the time to complete the family survey google form so we can better serve our students and families. MOY Family Survey

School Dance - We will have a Valentine’s Dance on February 7th from 3pm-5pm. Tickets are $5 and all students must be picked up at 5pm in the back of the school.

For 8th grade students and families:

8th graders will visit Heide Trask High School on February 4th from 8:30am-10:30am. A permission slip was handed out to students on 1/8. Students must have permission slips signed and returned by 2/4 to attend.

HTHS will also host a Curriculum Night on February 4th from 5:30pm to 7pm.

For 7th grade students and families:

Vision screenings for 7th graders will be conducted in the month of February. If you have any questions, please reach out to our school nurse by February 12th.

For 6th grade students and families:

Our 6th grade staff has planned a field trip for March 13th to the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium. Students will be receiving a field trip permission slip this week. Also, we will need parent volunteers to help as chaperones. Our staff will be communicating with you about this opportunity. Thank you for supporting our students and staff.

Athletics -

Basketball makeup games - We have moved our makeup games to Wednesday February 5th and Wednesday February 12th.
