CFMS families, we are excited and ready for our students to return. Next week will be busy with our awards days, math check-in, grizzly time support and everyday classroom activities. We want to remind our students to come to school everyday with a charged chromebook.
We have about a 25% completion rate for assignments. Please remind your child to check google classroom for assignments and activities. This will help in our current academic pacing and also counting for attendance for this week’s virtual days.
District Announcements -
Pender County Schools is excited to announce the opening of a new elementary and middle school in Hampstead and need your input to choose the perfect name for each school! Following Board Policy, school names should reflect the local geography, history, or community.
Please take a few minutes to participate in the School Naming Form by February 2, 2025. You can select from suggested names or submit your own ideas, ensuring they align with our district guidelines.
Your input will help shape the identity of this new school for years to come!

Awards -
We will be honoring our students during Grizzly Time for A honor roll, A/B honor roll, Perfect Attendance and i-Ready lesson completions. Feel free to join us. The grade level schedule is as follows:
6th grade - January 28th 7:35 am-8:00 am
7th grade - January 30th 7:35 am-8:00 am
8th grade - January 31st 7:35 am-8:00 am
For 8th grade students and families:
8th graders will visit Heide Trask High School on February 4th from 8:30am-10:30am. A permission slip was handed out to students on 1/8. Students must have permission slips signed and returned by 2/4 to attend.
Pender Early College High School applications are due to Ms. Bowman or Ms. Miller by January 27th.
For 6th grade students and families:
Our 6th grade staff has planned a field trip for March 13th to the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium. Students will be receiving a field trip permission slip this week. Also, we will need parent volunteers to help as chaperones. Our staff will be communicating with you about this opportunity. Thank you for supporting our students and staff.
Yearbook Announcement -
Athletics - Our basketball teams will have games on Monday January 27th. We will communicate the make up dates for the two games we had to postpone due to weather.
