Weekly Update

Cape Fear MS is rolling out a literacy initiative in which we are asking our students to read.  This includes reading at home, in the car or any opportunity that presents itself.  The chart below details the advantages of reading outside of the classroom.  Let’s partner in improving our students' reading and comprehension skills that will impact them in all classes.

Attendance

We have seen a drop in 6th grade attendance.  To help with this, we are throwing a hot cocoa party for the 6th grade homeroom with the highest attendance rate over the next 2 weeks.  We will have this party on December 20th.  In addition, the teacher of this homeroom will get Starbucks and a decorated front row parking spot or spot of their choice.

We will play all semifinals on Monday, Dec. 9th, starting at 4, followed by 5, 6, and 7 starts at Pender High. Please inform parents that games could start as early as 30 minutes before their announced start time once we get going to get everyone home as early as possible.
