Sunday Message

Week of September 19th23rd

Good evening Cub family, this is Dr. Oates with your Sunday reminders and updates.

Parents, we have begun our Attractions book fundraiser. Your child will bring home an attraction book with an order information on Monday. Please help us raise money for our school. If you do not wish to participate, please return the book back to your child's teacher. If you choose to keep the book you must pay for it as well as pay for any additional books you would like. The extra books will be sent home with your child.

All parents who have kindergarten students, if you have received a letter or you have not turned in kindergarten health assessments for your child, the last day for those forms to be turned in is Sept. 27th. Your child will be sent home beginning Sept. 28th and will not be allowed to return to school until it is submitted.

CFES is partnering with the NC Special Olympics in a program called Partner Up, Power Up. This is an eight week daily program, including weekends, designed to promote a healthy lifestyle, inclusion and family involvement. When your child's teacher signs up their class, they receive a classroom set of workbooks. Each workbook has a weekly schedule that includes fitness activities, fun worksheets, healthy recipes, and family activities. The program starts September 26th. Be on the lookout for announcements, and help your child complete this program!

Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 6th. We will have our Title I and Curriculum Night. Be on the lookout for a flyer that will be sent home, shared by your child’s teachers and posted to our media outlets. You don’t want to miss out on learning about all the great things that are happening here at Cape Fear Elementary School. You will be able to talk to teachers, learn activities and parents if you attend your name will be entered into a drawing to win a prize.

Lastly, the car line is running much smoother. Thank you for your continued patience. Remember you may use both the elementary and middle school sides for drop off in the morning. The tardy bell rings at 7:20. If you are in the line before 7:20 your child can walk to the back cafeteria door to enter until 7:30. A sign is placed outside that you are late and need to go to the front office to check-in. In the afternoon you will need to pick up on the elementary side. Middle schoolers must sit and remain in their designated area until their name is called.

Thank you for all you do to help our CFE community grow. Have a great rest of your evening.
