Good evening Cub family, this is Dr. Oates with your Sunday reminders and updates.
We had a fantastic week. As we enter the second week of the school year, we kindly request that
you drop off your students in the car line at the back of the school. Parents will no longer be
permitted to walk to the classrooms. Please rest assured, our dedicated staff will be on hand to
assist all students in reaching their respective classrooms.
We sincerely appreciate your continued patience during drop-off and pick-up times. To ensure the
safe loading and unloading of students, we request that you remain in your vehicle and follow the
instructions of our staff. When your group is instructed to move forward in the car line, please
advance as far as possible. This will enable our staff to efficiently load and unload as many cars
as possible, keeping the line moving smoothly. A staff member will be available to assist your
child. If you need to make adjustments to your child's seat belt or seat, kindly pull to the side to
allow traffic to flow smoothly.
For parents of kindergarten students, please ensure that you have submitted all required
kindergarten health assessments and immunization records by September 24th.
The Pender Mobile Dental Clinic is currently stationed at Cape Fear Elementary School until September 19th. This clinic offers routine and basic dental treatment to all interested students, parents, and staff. To take advantage of this convenient and high-quality dental service, kindly complete the form provided to your child and return it to their teacher.
All our 3rd-grade students will take the Beginning of Grade test on Wednesday September 4th.
Parents, we kindly request that you ensure your child gets a restful night's sleep and arrives at
school on time to enjoy breakfast and be fully prepared to focus and demonstrate their knowledge.
Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 am. Please be aware that students who arrive late after testing
has begun will not be permitted to enter the testing room. If for any reason your child is late or
absent on the testing day, they will makeup the test on Thursday, September 5th.
To ensure a smooth and safe dismissal process, we kindly ask that you follow the guidelines for transportation changes and student pick-up. If you need to change your child’s transportation arrangements, please send a note to your child’s teacher. This helps us accurately track and implement any changes. If a change must be made by phone, please contact us by 2:00 pm to ensure we have sufficient time to inform the teacher and student before the school day ends. We understand that emergencies may arise, but adhering to this process is essential for ensuring every student reaches their destination safely.
Additionally, when signing your child out, please remain inside the office; your child will be sent to meet you there. This procedure is in place to maintain the safety and security of all our students. We greatly appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us keep our school running smoothly
This is a friendly reminder to purchase your CFE Spirit Wear! All orders are due by Friday, September 6. Extra order forms, are in office in you need one.
Lastly, please note that there will be no school on Monday, September 2nd, in observance of Labor
Day. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, September 3rd. That is all of our
