Good evening Cub family, this is Dr. Oates with your Sunday reminders and updates.

Our CFE PTO invites you to Spirit Night Monday, April 8th at Islands Fresh Mex Grill at 6838 Market Street location from 5:00-10:00 pm. Don't forget to mention you are with Cape Fear Elementary!! Can't wait to see you there!

We are excited to announce that Monday, April 8th, will be the historical solar eclipse! Pender County Schools will be on a regular schedule on Monday. CFE will particpate in viewing the eclipse school-wide with safety solar glasses provided to us by NASA. If you would like for your child to participate in our viewing event at school that afternoon with our solar glasses provided by NASA, please make sure to return a signed permission slip to your child's teacher. We are so excited to experience this event together! Here in Pender County, North Carolina we will see a partial solar eclipse with 77% of the sun blocked beginning at approximately 1:59 pm and be at its maximum at 3:15 pm and end at approximately 4:28 pm.

Beginning Monday, letters will be sent home and mailed to families of students who have not paid for damaged and/or missing chromebooks. Fees can be paid by cash/money order/check to Ms. Nichols by May 10, 2024

Join us for our Arts Night on Wednesday, April 17th from 5-7:30 pm for a night filled with student art work and performances. It will be an unforgettable night! You don't want to miss it! Our third graders will provide our music. Ms. Smith, Ms. Hanson and Ms. Coleman's classes are performing at 5:30 pm and Ms. Brickner, Ms.Lawrence and Ms. Hill's classes are performing at 6:15 pm in our multipurpose room. More information will be going home this week!

Lastly, this is a reminder that our tardy bell rings at 7:20 am each morning. If you arrive after this time you will need to drive to the front of the school and walk your student into the building to sign in and receive a tardy slip to take to class.

Please be sure to park in designated parking spots if you need to enter the school for any reason. We ask that you do not park in front of the school as this is for our buses to safely drop off students and be able to exit. This is also marked as the fire and emergecy vehicle lane. This also ensures unobstructed traffic flow when cars enter or leave the school campus, especially if there is an emergency.

This is a reminder there are no check-outs after 2:00 pm.

That is all of our announcements for the week. Have a great rest of your evening.
