Week of May 15th-19th
Good evening Cub family. This is Dr. Oates with your Sunday reminders and updates.
Our CFE Stride and Girls on the Run teams will be running in the Emerge Ortho 5k on Saturday, May 20th beginning at 8:30 am at UNCW. If you are interested in joining our team please register at runsignup.com and look for Cape Fear Elementary Stride or GOTR teams listed and pick one to join. We would LOVE to have you join us! No professional running experience necessary! You can run, jog, or enjoy a leisurely stroll to support our CFE family!
We will begin EOG testing this week. Students in grades 3-5 will take the Math EOG on Tuesday, May 16th, the Reading EOG on Thursday, May 18th and 5th grade students will take the Science EOG on Tuesday, May 23rd. Certain identified 3rd graders will also take the Read to Achieve Test on Tuesday, May 23rd as well. Make-up testing will be on Wednesday, May 17th and Friday, May 19th.
Students do not need to bring a book bag or electronic devices to school during testing days. Any cell phones or smartwatches brought to school will be taken up and stored during testing.
Parents please make sure your child gets a good night's rest and is on time to school in order to eat breakfast and be prepared to focus and show what they know. We will begin testing promptly at 8:00am. If a student is late and testing has started, they will not be able to enter the room. If your child is late, or is absent they will have to make it during the make-up days.
Extra yearbooks are on sale for $25 until they are gone. It will be first come, first serve and we are only taking cash payments.
Parents, if you purchased pictures from the dances, be sure to check your email. Delivery of printed picture requests will begin this week.
We are so proud of all of our students. It is important that they are here for testing. They have worked hard this year and we are excited about all the growth they will show. For their hard work this year we plan to have our Growth Day on Thursday, May 25th.

martes 23 de mayo. Ciertos estudiantes de 3er grado identificados también tomarán la prueba Read to Achieve el martes 23 de mayo. Las pruebas de recuperación serán el miércoles 17 de mayo y el viernes 19 de mayo.
Los estudiantes no necesitan traer una mochila o dispositivos electrónicos a la escuela durante los días de exámenes. Todos los teléfonos celulares o relojes inteligentes que se traigan a la escuela se recogerán y almacenarán durante la prueba.
Padres, por favor asegúrense de que su hijo descanse bien y llegue a tiempo a la escuela para desayunar y estar preparado para concentrarse y demostrar lo que sabe. Comenzaremos las pruebas puntualmente a las 8:00 am. Si un estudiante llega tarde y la prueba ha comenzado, no podrá ingresar al salón. Si su hijo llega tarde o está ausente, tendrá que hacerlo durante los días de recuperación.
Los anuarios adicionales están a la venta por $25 hasta que se agoten. Será por orden de llegada y solo aceptamos pagos en efectivo.
Padres, si compraron fotos de los bailes, asegúrese de revisar su correo electrónico. La entrega de solicitudes de imágenes impresas comenzará esta semana.
Estamos muy orgullosos de todos nuestros estudiantes. Es importante que estén aquí para la prueba. Han trabajado duro este año y estamos entusiasmados con todo el crecimiento que mostrarán. Por su arduo trabajo este año planeamos tener nuestro Día de Crecimiento el jueves 25 de mayo.
