A big thank you goes to Mrs. Irma Mendoza! Mrs. Mendoza is the mother of BMS students Eduardo Mendoza and Maritza Mendoza. Mrs. Mendoza is not only a mother of two middle schoolers at BMS, but she is also a mom on a mission to help students improve their writing skills through friendly competition. Recently, she spearheaded the school-wide “Gratitude Essay Contest” in November. This contest encouraged students to submit a neatly handwritten 200 word essay describing the things in life that they are grateful for. Mrs. Mendoza donated six beautiful prizes for the contest, consisting of gift cards and goodie bags. Additionally, she created a colorful display in the media center showcasing all of the students' essays.
She has also donated many prizes to the BMS Student Store, which offers students an opportunity to “purchase” prizes with Flames (tickets) they earn from teachers for good deeds. When she is not busy working, you can always find Mrs. Mendoza cheering her children on at the BMS soccer games.
