Burgaw Middle School

As the Parent and Community Liaison for BMS, Mrs. Newkirk has been making strides to build our school community. As a Master of Science in the field of Human Services, she is certified in Family Life Education. Mrs. Newkirk focuses on the district goals and standards for Title I programming as it relates to parent and community involvement. One of her responsibilities is to serve as a school based contact for concerns made by parents and members of the community. During the previous holiday season, she encouraged students to participate in thinking about what they were thankful for. She even included a holiday tree in the media center for students to decorate. It’s clear to see that we are all very thankful for the community she has created and are so happy to have her as part of our BMS family!
