Burgaw Middle School

The Burgaw Middle School Color Guard Drill Team are pictured here along with two gentlemen volunteers that train them - Mr. Malloy (right) and Mr. Lettinhand (left) who were born and raised in Burgaw, NC and attended C.F. Pope High School; they later went on to serve their flag and country. Mr. Malloy served in the elite 82nd Airborne Division in the US Army, while Mr. Lettinhand served for 30 years in the USMC, finishing his tour as the head logistician at the Pentagon. These gentlemen volunteer weekly at BMS, leading young male mentorship groups and instructing our first-of-its-kind Color Guard Drill Team. We are grateful for their commitment and the many ways they give back to our community!
