This year, Burgaw Middle School honored and celebrated Black History Month by having an Art Gallery Walk in the school cafeteria. Each grade level wrote a paper on a famous African American in the fields of Art, Sports, Science and Education. Ten papers from each grade level were chosen for the competition. In addition, thirty students created trifold boards for the display but only three teams were selected as winners. The winning teams are as follows:
1: (Amanda Gorman): Martiza Mendoza and Jahaziel Leon-Santiago - First Place
2: (Harriet Tubman): Gabby Ortiz and Tiauna Davis - Second Place
3: (Booker T. Washington): Annesia Farrior - Third Place
