PLES Speech-Language Pathologist and valued member of the EC Play-Based Team, Meghan Gallen, is the definition of teamwork and dedication. She is always willing to go the extra mile in her work, always going out of her way to assist in any way possible. Whether it is conducting observations, supporting teachers, or creating student visuals, Meghan's commitment to students and staff is evident.
Her ability to collaborate, appreciate a variety of thinking, and champion staff is irreplaceable. She not only brings value to student learning, but to staff as well by sharing best practice and promoting the use of therapy strategies in class.

Meet Faith Harper, one of our dedicated school social workers! Ms. Harper splits her time between North Topsail Elementary, Surf City Elementary, and Topsail High School. With two years of experience, she is passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment where students feel loved and empowered to overcome challenges.

🎶 Pender County Schools Music Departments Shine! 🎶
Last night, students from SCMS, BMS, and HTHS took to the stage for a Pre-MPA concert, where they performed for judges to receive valuable feedback ahead of the official Music Performance Adjudication (MPA) this week at Ashley High School. This event is an important opportunity for our student musicians to receive constructive comments that will help them perfect their performances for Thursday and Friday’s MPA events.
Best of luck to all our PCS schools participating this week, including THS and TMS, who will be performing at MPA as well!

Recently, she took the initiative to start an environmental club, gathering signatures from students and staff to make it a reality! Her enthusiasm and dedication inspire her classmates to strive for excellence.

📚Teacher Tuesday - Kelly Czepiel, Topsail Middle School Special Education Teacher🌟
Kelly Czepiel has spent four years in the teaching field and goes into her line of work with a unique form of understanding developed by her purpose of instilling confidence and resilience within her students. She believes in the potential for overcoming obstacles and allowing students to achieve their goals.✨
Ms. Czepiel instructs Reading and Math, using her diverse experience in business and technology to ensure learning is an adventure in the classroom. Her most exciting classroom adventure was participating in the Tomatosphere project, where students grew space tomatoes in collaboration with First the Seed Foundation! 🚀🍅 She was also granted a Special Education grant by Study.com for her dedication to special learning needs students.
Ms. Czepiel is a proud graduate of the Pender County Schools Beginning Teacher Support Program and is also working on classes through East Carolina University to prepare to be a teacher. Her next goal? A Master's in Special Education! 🎓
Outside the classroom, Ms. Czepiel enjoys her wonderful family, adoring husband, and two sweet children. She is also a cancer survivor, demonstrating that she is capable of doing hard things—just like she inspires her students to do! Her experience has enriched her dedication to making a difference in the life of a child with special learning needs.
In her free time, Ms. Czepiel enjoys crafts and scrapbooking and hopes to travel to Italy one day. ✈️
