BURGAW, NC – On Thursday, September 29, 2022, Pender County Schools was informed that Parker Brown, 5th grade teacher at C.F. Pope Elementary, was charged and taken into custody by the Leland Police Department.
Mr. Brown has submitted his resignation from Pender County Schools.
According to law enforcement, Mr. Brown uploaded and shared images of a minor. Based on current information from law enforcement, there is no indication that Pender County Schools students were included in the shared images.
Pender County Schools will continue to work with law enforcement throughout this investigation as it remains active.
