Safety Measures and Protocols
Protect Yourself and Others
The safety, health and well-being of our students, staff and community is a top priority. We continue to partner with the Pender County Public Health Department and follow the guidance of the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services as shared in the StrongSchoolsNC Toolkit.
Mask-Optional
The wearing of face coverings remains optional in all Pender County Schools facilities. PCS went mask-optional following a September 21, 2021 vote by the Board of Education.
Social and Emotional Health
We understand the developments related to COVID-19 can result in anxiety in children. The National Association of School Psychologists offers tips on talking to children. School counselors and psychologists are available to students during the school year. We encourage students and families to reach out to their school's staff for any support needed.
