BURGAW, NC - Jennifer Hansen has been appointed to the Pender County Schools Board of Education, representing District 1. Ms. Hansen was sworn in by the Honorable Judge James H. Faison during the January 14, 2025 Board of Education meeting.
Ms. Hansen’s commitment to Pender County Schools spans decades, including leadership roles such as PTA President for Penderlea School (2010-2017) and Pender High School (2017-present). She has served on various committees, including the Pender County School Calendar Committee and the Superintendent Parent Advisory Committee (2023-2024). Ms. Hansen has also served as a substitute teacher for PCS since 2022.
Beyond education, Ms. Hansen is deeply involved in civic service. She has held positions on the Burgaw Planning Board, the Board of Adjustments, the Tree Board, and the Area Tourism Development Authority, often serving as chair. She is also active with the Pender County 4-H program, Burgaw Baptist Church, and the Pender County Sheriff’s Charitable Foundation.
Originally from Scotland County, Ms. Hansen has been married to Dr. Jeff Hansen for 28 years. They have two children who are products of Pender County Schools.
