As part of School Board Appreciation Month, we are pleased to introduce Tom Reeves, one of the newest members of the Pender County Board of Education. Elected in the November 2024 election, Mr. Reeves represents District 5 and began his four-year term on December 10, 2024.
Mr. Reeves brings extensive experience as a business owner and community leader to his role. For over two decades, he has co-owned Hampstead Ace Hardware and Calabash Ace Hardware, building strong ties to the community. Prior to his career in retail, he worked in the Heating and Air industry for 17 years, including 12 as a business owner. His professional background reflects his dedication to problem-solving and teamwork.
Beyond his business ventures, Mr. Reeves is actively involved in the community. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Southeastern Boys and Girls Club and is engaged with the Pender County Republican Party. A former member of the Cape Fear Optimist Club, he has also held leadership roles as a coach and commissioner, further demonstrating his commitment to supporting local youth and families.
Mr. Reeves has lived in Pender County for 25 years and is deeply invested in the district’s success. He and his wife are proud parents of two children and grandparents to five. Reflecting on his new role, he shared, “I’m honored to serve the students, teachers, and administrators of Pender County. I look forward to using my experience to create a positive environment that empowers our students and supports our educators.”
As we celebrate School Board Appreciation Month, we are excited to welcome Mr. Reeves to the Board of Education.
