In honor of School Board Appreciation Month, we’re pleased to introduce Jason Spivey, one of the newest members of the Pender County Board of Education. Appointed by the Pender County Republican Party, Mr. Spivey was sworn in on September 10, 2024, to fill the District 4 seat. His current term runs from 2024 to 2026, and he brings a wealth of experience in leadership, public service, and communication to his role on the Board.
In addition to serving on the Board of Education, Mr. Spivey is the Mayor of Atkinson and has dedicated 15 years of his career to law enforcement. A graduate of Cape Fear Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement program, he is known for his strong problem-solving skills and steadfast commitment to community service.
A lifelong advocate for Pender County, where he has made his home as an adult, Mr. Spivey is dedicated to using his skills and expertise to strengthen the public education system and enhance opportunities for students and families. His passion for service is further reflected in his family life, as he and his wife raise their two children in the community they call home.
As we celebrate School Board Appreciation Month, we warmly welcome Mr. Spivey to the Board of Education and thank him for his commitment to the students and families of Pender County.
