PENDER COUNTY, NC - Pender County Schools is excited to collaborate with The Institute for Emerging Issues at NC State University (IEI) through the “Building a New Digital Economy” (BAND-NC) program. This initiative focuses on bridging the digital divide across North Carolina, ensuring that all students and community members have access to vital digital resources.
For many in our community, the lack of internet access, computers, or digital skills creates barriers to education, work, health care, and connection. BAND-NC aims to develop a digital inclusion plan tailored to each county’s unique needs, with a goal of making North Carolina the first state in the country where every county has such a plan.
Through continued conversations and a digital equity survey, Pender County Schools and IEI are working to gather information, identify gaps in access, and develop strategies to ensure equitable digital resources for all. Community members are encouraged to participate in the survey and contribute to shaping the future of digital inclusion in our area.
Together, we can build a more digitally equitable future for Pender County and beyond!
