HAMPSTEAD, N.C. – Topsail Middle School is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Alan McNaughton as the new principal. Bringing with him a rich background in special education and over a decade of experience in school administration, Dr. McNaughton is poised to lead Topsail Middle School to new heights.
Before joining Topsail Middle, Dr. McNaughton served as the Assistant Principal at North Brunswick High School (Leland, NC). Prior to that, he was the Dean of Students at West Brunswick High School (Shallotte, NC). His career began as a special education teacher in Fayetteville, where he developed a strong foundation in student-centered education and inclusive practices.
"I am very excited about joining the admin team at Topsail Middle School," Dr. McNaughton said. "I am looking forward to an exciting year and everything we are going to be able to accomplish as a team."
In his new role, Dr. McNaughton will oversee several key areas. His comprehensive experience across all three school levels positions him uniquely to address the diverse needs of Topsail Middle School.
As the new academic year approaches, Dr. McNaughton is eager to collaborate with the faculty, staff, and parents to enhance the educational experience for all students. His focus will be on fostering a supportive and efficient learning environment where every student can thrive.
