BURGAW, NC — Pender County Schools welcomes Britton Overton as the Director of Transportation, effective immediately. Overton brings a wealth of experience and a profound commitment to student safety and efficient transportation services to his new role.
Overton's career in student transportation began in 2012, initially focusing on fleet maintenance before transitioning to student transportation in 2016. His expertise is deeply rooted in North Carolina's educational landscape, having previously served as the Director of Transportation for Camden County Schools.
In addition to his professional roles, Overton actively contributes to the community through advisory positions with the NC Pupil Transportation Association and the NC State Employees Credit Union advisory board. He also champions the annual NC Rock Autism Music Festival, an event cherished in Northeast North Carolina.
"I am honored to join the Pender County Schools team and am committed to working collaboratively with schools, families, and communities to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of our students," said Overton.
Outside of work, Overton finds joy in family activities, including beach outings, fishing trips, and coaching sports with his children.
