Pender County Schools is applying for funding from the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant for the 2024-2027 school years to serve Title I Elementary Schools in Pender County.
Authorized under Title IV, Part B, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015, the purpose of Nita M. Lowey 21st CCLC Programs is to provide federal funds to establish or expand community learning centers that operate during out-of-school hours providing three specific services: intentional academic support, quality enrichment experiences, and family engagement opportunities.
If awarded, the 21st CCLC grant will allow the district to continue to provide opportunities for students to receive after-school tutoring support in Literacy and Math, as well as Science enrichment at no cost. The grant will support families of students attending Cape Fear, CF Pope, Malpass Corner, Penderlea, and Rocky Point Elementary Schools.
The 21st Century After School Programs Grant represents a significant opportunity for Title I elementary schools to enhance Literacy, Math, and STEM education initiatives. This grant seeks to empower students with the knowledge and skills essential for success in the 21st-century workforce.
