ROCKY POINT, NC - Nikki Braune has been appointed as the Principal of Pender Innovative Learning Academy by the Pender County Board of Education.
“I am looking forward to working with students from all over Pender County.” said Ms. Braune. “My goal is to help all students be successful in both their academic and social pursuits.”
Prior to this role, Ms. Braune served as an Assistant Principal at Rocky Point Elementary School from 2021 to 2023. She also gained experience at Malpass Corner Elementary and Cape Fear Elementary. With her roots in North Carolina, Ms. Braune has lived in various parts of the state before settling on the coast in 2014.
Ms. Braune holds a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education, specializing in Math and Language Arts, as well as a Master's degree in Mathematics Education and Public School Administration, both earned from Appalachian State University. During her 18 years as a middle school teacher, she also coached soccer, track, cheerleading, and softball.
Currently residing in Brunswick County, Mrs. Braune's husband works as an educator and coach at New Hanover County Schools. She is a proud parent of three children, including a daughter who is a 9th grader at Heide Trask High School, another daughter who is a 1st-grade teacher, and a son who works as a farrier. Mrs. Braune enjoys dedicating her time to supporting her children's pursuits, primarily as a devoted "dance" mom.
Mrs. Braune is committed to fostering a sense of love and support for all students. Her utmost goal is to ensure they have the necessary resources and opportunities to achieve success in life.
