PENDER COUNTY SCHOOLS BEGINNING TEACHER SUPPORT PROGAM (BTSP)

Beginning Teacher (BT) Levels of Support in PCS

BTs (1st-3rd Year teachers) are assigned a mentor (typically within the same school building). Mentors meet with their BTs on a weekly basis to provide support.
BTs have a school-based Site Coordinator who leads Monthly BT support sessions.
BTs have access to a BT Coach (Lisa Godwin, Lyndsay Paquette, & Chase Parker-Morgan) who will support all needs of novice teachers (i.e. behavior management, organization skills, emotional support, observations and feedback, etc.).
BTs have an Elementary or Secondary Instructional Coach who support County Programs, Curriculum, & content specific needs.
BTs have access to Human Resources personnel including Human Resources Director (Melissa Wilson), and Licensure Specialist (Elizabeth Stewart).
