Principal - Daniel Sidor
Hi, I'm Daniel Sidor and I was named principal of Pender Early College High School (PECHS) in September 2023. My journey with Pender County Schools began in 2007 when I joined the PECHS family as a dedicated social studies teacher, just one year after PECHS opened its doors. I have been an integral part of the school community, demonstrating a passion for education and a commitment to student success. During my tenure at PECHS, I have served as the lead teacher, mentor teacher, advisor and was awarded Teacher of the Year at PECHS in 2016 and 2019.
Not only have I had an active role in leadership at PECHS, I have also done a lot of curriculum work and professional development for Pender County Schools. I wrote the curriculum and provided professional development for both the Common Core and the new social studies standards which were released a few years ago. I have also done professional development in using common protocols in the classroom and other methods which I learned from being part of the Early College model.
My educational journey includes a Master's in Education with a focus on Curriculum/Instructional Supervision, earned in 2012 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW). I also obtained an Administration Add-On Licensure during the same year.
I have served as substitute Principal at PECHS since 2013 and served as the Summer School Principal in 2016, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Over the years, I have been committed to our school's mission, and now, I am excited to take on this leadership position. It has been a long-term goal to have the opportunity to serve in a higher leadership position and I’m thankful that Pender County Schools has entrusted me with this opportunity to serve as principal.
