Mission
As Pender County School Counselors, our mission is to assist students in cultivating a positive attitude towards themselves and others, acquiring essential career and life-planning skills, and nurturing responsible social skills. By fostering the development of these skills, we aim to enhance success both in school and in life.
Focus
School counselors assist students in the following ways:
- Cultivating self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-esteem
- Recognizing and maximizing their capabilities
- Fostering a sense of worthiness
- Providing a platform for students to discuss educational, personal, and social concerns
- Aiding in the adjustment to school and home environments
