Brian Allen was named Principal at Burgaw Middle School in June 2023.

Mr. Allen was most recently principal at Surf City Elementary where he served since the school opened for the 2018-2019 school year. Prior to becoming principal, he was the Assistant Principal at Topsail Annandale Elementary School and taught 3rd and 4th grades at Cape Fear Elementary School.

A native of Wilmington, Mr. Allen loves living on the coast to accommodate his water-loving lifestyle. Mr. Allen earned his Bachelor’s degree and his Master's degree from UNC-Wilmington. He is currently working on attaining his doctoral degree from UNCW - Go SEAHAWKS!

Mr. Allen lives with his wife Crissie, who is also an administrator in education. They love spending time at the beach, on the boat, or at the poolside.

Mr. Allen is committed to the students and community of Pender County Schools.

Paula King-Jacobs, a Pender County native, was appointed Assistant Principal of Burgaw Middle School in 2023.

Previously Mrs. King-Jacobs was the Assistant Principal at Malpass Corner Elementary from 2020 through the end of the 2022-2023 school year.

She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from UNC-Wilmington, later acquiring a Masters in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. She is currently working on her Doctorate at Gardner-Webb University. This is her 13th year in education.

Ms. King-Jacobs currently resides in Castle Hayne with her husband Jesse and three children, Gavin, Abrianna and Jessica. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.

It is her goal to continue to educate students in Pender County and watch them become productive citizens in the community.
